2023 in Prayer - 13 - Prayer for Empathy in Tough Times

 Heavenly mother and father,

May I have the courage to acknowledge that it is difficult. That it hurts.

May I still not quit the path of empathy, because the burden burns me out.

May I find mechanisms to hold myself together while I listen to another.

May I find strength to continue to be open to differences.

O divine, give me the strength to keep feeling empathy when I am broken, tired, and impatient.

Give me patience, and listening for shared feelings and connections.

Teach me to love into brokenness without expectations of return.

Help me heal with your blessings O Lord. This I ask in your loving name.
